What it is
The full survey of the land: not only where the boundaries are — that is the planimetry — but also how the ground rises and falls, which is the altimetry. It is done with a GNSS receiver or a total station depending on the site: under trees or between buildings GNSS loses signal, and there the total station wins.
Timing and coverage
How long it takes depends on the size of the land, the access and the vegetation: an urban lot is not the same as a hillside farm. I tell you when you ask, along with the price, before you commit to anything. I work in El Salvador.
When you need it
- You are going to build and the designer asks for the survey
- The slopes matter, not only the area
- The land is large or irregular and a sketch is not enough
- A procedure requires coordinates in the country official system
What you get
- The drawing in DWG and PDF, ready to print or to file
- The calculation record with the bearing, distance and coordinate table
- The area in square metres and in square varas
- The contour lines of the terrain
- The point file with elevations, and the KML
- Coordinates in whichever El Salvador system you need
What I need from you to start
- What the survey is for: whoever will use it decides the detail
- Where it is and roughly how big
- Access to the land, and whether there is heavy vegetation
