TopoMan

Surveying software · Sold to any country

From the field to the drawing, directly

A CAD program that reads and writes DWG and DXF natively (no AutoCAD, no converters) and an add-in for anyone who is not going to switch. Written by a working surveyor.

It opens in your browser. No sign-up.

Two programs, one for each way of working

One replaces your whole CAD. The other lives inside the one you already use. Here is the essential of each; everything else is on its own page.

TopoMan CAD

Native CAD viewer and editor · DXF and DWG, no converters

A CAD program that opens, edits and saves DWG and DXF without AutoCAD and without converters, with surveying built in: from the point file off the total station to the drawing with its bearing table and its property description. It draws any plan, but it is made for the surveyor's.

What it does

  • Imports points, defines the perimeter and produces the bearing, distance and coordinate tables
  • Subdivision with streets, contour lines, profiles and the terrain in 3D with its cut and fill
  • Georeferencing for El Salvador, Guatemala and Costa Rica, or your own system, with satellite imagery underneath
  • The property description in legal language, to Word and PDF
  • And the whole CAD (layers, blocks, dimensioning, layouts and plotting), plus PDFs to read, mark up and sign
Runs on
Windows, Linux, macOS, Android and the browser
Files
Native DWG and DXF; opens, marks up and signs PDF; imports DGN, CSV, PDF and images

Add-in for AutoCAD

TopoMan plugin for AutoCAD

Surveying inside the AutoCAD you already use

For anyone who already works in AutoCAD and is not going to switch. It is a palette that opens inside AutoCAD with five tabs that do the repetitive work of a survey drawing (numbering vertices, producing the tables, writing the property description, subdividing and doing the altimetry) without leaving the drawing.

This plugin's interface is currently available in Spanish only.

What it does

  • Drawing: numbers the vertices, produces the tables and the area in square metres and square varas
  • Location: owner, boundaries and neighbours, with the catalogues of El Salvador and Guatemala inside
  • Description: reviews the neighbours, the fences and the divisions, and exports the description to Word or PDF
  • Subdivision: splits the polygon into lots
  • Altimetry: point cloud, TIN, contour lines and profiles
Runs on
Windows, inside AutoCAD 2013 and later, 32- or 64-bit. A single installer, and AutoCAD loads it by itself at start-up

Works on the DWG open in AutoCAD

Spanish only, for now

Built for the actual job

The square vara, the three coordinate systems of El Salvador, the datum shift to SIRGAS and the property description in legal language are not add-ons: they are the reason it exists. And the rest, layers, blocks, dimensioning, layouts and plotting, is all there, so the drawing does not have to be finished somewhere else.

“The same surveyor who does the fieldwork wrote the program the drawing is made with.”

Ronald Mancia · Land surveyor · El Salvador
